Egham Golf Day 2017

The sun rose early on a glorious day, setting the perfect scene at the beautiful Richmond Club for the Egham branch annual golf day on Friday 1st June 2017.
72 golfers, customers and suppliers arrived in good time to be welcomed with their goodie bags and enjoyed a hearty breakfast before their day’s work commenced. For those whose golf needed a bit of help, advice was at hand from the Golf Professionals at the driving range.
With a friendly but competitive atmosphere the group of 3s went out one by one, aided by The VPAR electronic scoring system. The golfers could now compare how they and their team were doing with the live scoring and access to the leader board.
The course was in magnificent condition, playing very tight with lightening fast greens. On the par 3, 8th hole the challenge was to beat the professional, which 23 golfer managed. There was also longest drives and nearest the pins holes. The golf ended with a fun putting competition and a nice cold beer.
The main team competition was won by Mick Peffers of Dove Construction, Bob Birch of Octagon Developments and David Kircher of Kircher Developments, with Simon Peel of Carrington Fox collecting the individual prize.
After enjoying a fine meal, the golfers and evening guests were entertained by the very funny Roger De Courcey and his friend Nookie Bear. As Roger announced ‘if you are over 40 years old hopefully you will remember me as being quite funny but if you are under 40, you will probably be asking who is this old guy with a teddy bear’ The evening concluded with a queue for a selfie with Nookie and some fond farewells. A great time was had by all.
A massive thank you to all who join us on the day and in particular to the sponsors who without their involvement and support, we could not arrange a day of this nature
