The new ‘Benchmark report’ powered by HBXL is similar to the PGR full Estimating Service pack. The same expertise and latest software are used but it’s a ’light touch’ version and has a set price of just £149 ex VAT.
The Benchmark report gives you a useful gauge of the overall build costs – and is definitely a cost-effective way to price up a project to help you or the customer get an idea of the bottom line.
Why so cheap?
We can afford to charge just £149 because we don’t review the specification or give an itemised breakdown. Instead, we use data from similar completed jobs to crunch the numbers. You receive a price against each phase, from the site set-up to the external decoration. Drains, scaffolding, joinery, plumbing, roof tiling…they’re all in the calculations.
Whether you work in the trade or you’re a homeowner looking to start a project, the Benchmark report is a great place to start!
Where do the numbers come from?
The Benchmark service is based on real data generated from over £0.6bn projects that HBXL have previously estimated. The team look at similar projects that have been given a full estimate and tailors the information to your project.

When you win the job, we’d recommend the full estimate. The HBXL team will scrutinise the specification, complexity of the job, build method, ground conditions, access, material and labour prices and how the project should be managed. And with the full estimate you get the detailed cost breakdown, build programme, materials schedules for ‘just in time’ ordering, cashflow, your professional customer quotation (if you’re in the trade) and more!
When we look at your job for the benchmark estimate, we’ll also give you a quote for the full estimate. So you’ll know the fee from the outset, should you need it further down the line.
